Events Overview

Our goal is to provide our members with activities designed to promote fellowship and community involvement through:

Fun social events at a variety of venues - Houston Symphony, Houston Grand Opera, Alley Theatre, Houston Science and Modern Art Museums
Luncheons with educational speakers focused on topics of interest for retirees
Sporting events watching the Texans and Astros
Daytrips and multi-day bus trips and cruises
Volunteer opportunities through Chevron Humankind and our member suggestions

The Event and Program Committees are incorporating member feedback from the 2023 and 2024 Holiday Event surveys to plan 2025 - 2026 Events and Quarterly Luncheons. We are researching multiple events and lunch topics that received the most votes from members. We conducted a website survey of members in 2025 to collect ideas on cruises, multi-day bus trips and daytrips. We have registered to use the free Harris County buses for day trips within 150 miles of Houston. We have a daytrip planned to visit the George W Bush Presidential Library in College Station on October 1, 2025. On November 4-6, 2025, our bus trip to San Antonio where we will visit all the historical sites and a riverboat cruise with great food and fun. Our Annual City-Wide Holiday Luncheon is scheduled for December 8, 2025, at the Junior League - our most attended event of the year with details coming soon.

We welcome your ideas and suggestions to expand the number and types of events that we offer. Just as important, if you would be willing to lend a hand and help coordinate an event, please let us know that as well.
