Chevron Retirees Association Metropolitan Houston Chapter |
MHC President's Awards
2022 |
At the 2022 Holiday Event, three deserving Chapter members received the inaugural MHC President’s Awards to recognize outstanding contributions to the success of the Metropolitan Houston Chapter of the Chevron Retirees Association. The recipients and their contributions are highlighted below.
Charlie Hancock – Membership Data Coordinator: For many years, Charlie (at right) was responsible for updating the membership master spreadsheet with such details as member information, dues status and adding new members. He also handled our “snail mail”, processed payments, made deposits of funds received to our bank account, and reported these transactions. He truly kept our chapter running smoothly and our records accurate.
George Treibel – Retiring Vice President: George (at left) served twelve years on the Board of Directors, seven of those as Vice President. He is an original member of the “Family of Five” (along with Glenn Ewan, his wife Lorraine, Evelyn Kassey and her husband Mike) who traveled around Houston to support the Neighborhood Luncheon program since its inception in 2018. In addition to his dedicated service, he showcased his artistic talents by creating the wooden scroll saw portraits that were presented to our BOD retirees and guest speaker at the 2022 Holiday Event.
John Moncrief – Guest Speaker: John (at right) has been a Guest Speaker at several of our Neighborhood Luncheons, traveling to all nine locations where they were previously held. In 2019, John presented “The Future of Oil and Energy” and “Climate Change: A Rational Review”. In 2022, John followed-up with a presentation on “The Future of World Energy”. Attendance at our luncheons is always high when John presents, and we are grateful for his willingness to share his well-researched material with our members.
Each of the President’s Award recipients were presented with a framed Certificate and a $50 Chevron gas card. Glenn Ewan (Immediate Past President) and Brian Batiste (President-elect at this ceremony) thanked these members once again for their valued service and contributions. We look forward to recognizing more deserving Chapter members in the future!
